Samantha Batchelor
Sam founded Adaptive State with a passion and a vision: create a beautiful, performance-driven facility and a supportive, welcoming environment that is built on a foundation of high energy, positivity, fun, and of course, elite athletic development and sport performance.

Strength & Conditioning Coach
Jason Seed
Jason has been a professional hockey player his entire life, most notably competing in the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics for Team Italy! He has a wealth of experience coaching both on-ice and off-ice, and brings an extremely energetic, positive energy to the gym.

Registered Kinesiologist
Kristen Hardy
Kristen grew up playing a variety of sports, including U22AA hockey with the Barrie Jr. Sharks. Kristen has been an athletic trainer, facilitated postpartum and Parkinson specialized classes as a Kinesiologist, and trained youth women's hockey teams off-ice.

Sydney Lyndon
Syd has been an athlete training under Sam since she was 15; playing for the Ottawa Lady Sens and at the University of PEI while completing her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She is currently completing her Master's in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa.

Strength & Conditioning Coach
Marlo Steenbakkers
Marlo has been an athlete training under Sam while competing in basketball for Saint Mary's University, winning 3 AUS Championships! Marlo holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and also completed her MBA. She is currently a basketball coach in Ottawa and works with many of our sports teams in the gym.

Strength & Conditioning Coach
Erica Melanson
Erica is completed her internship through the University of Ottawa at Adaptive State, and now works with us specifically for our young athlete development program and youngest sports teams. Erica is a former elite gymnast, and also coaches gymnastics, specifically for children with special needs.

Kinesiology Student Intern
Natasha Yeadon
Natasha is a Queen's University Kinesiology student joining us to assist with team training and athlete programs. She is experienced in a training setting, also serving as a Strength and Conditioning Intern at Queen's with the varsity soccer and football teams.

Psychology Student Intern
Molly Dunn
Molly has been an athlete training under Sam since she was 14; playing for the Nepean Wildcats, Team Ontario, and Team Canada. She now plays Division 1 NCAA hockey for Robert Morris University, studying psychology. Molly is assisting us with team training and athlete programs.

Personal Trainer
Courtney Kalbfleisch
Courtney has been training personal clients and small groups for over 12 years in Ottawa, specializing in injury recovery, surgical rehabilitation, and functional strength development. She owns her own personal training business, CKStrong.
